Poland Pavilion - Making the walls Quake as if they were Dilating with the Knowledge of Secret Powers

Poland - an austere space
focus on the created sound scape

Exaggerated sounds
Ducts, walls and floors transferring noise vibrations
An immersing installation of sounds in architecture
The Polish exhibition at this year's Biennale, explores the concept of sound as a common ground in architecture, both as a literal and conceptual medium.

The exhibition expresses sound as a powerful medium, common in all buildings. Sounds that are often ignored and unnoticed, are exaggerated in the exhibition space through the installation of additional ducts, false walls and suspended floors, which carry the noise and vibrations. The resulting alien-like sound scape created is not foreign to the Pavilion, with all the noises coming from within the Polish Pavilion and it's neighbours.

The exhibition presents an alternate way of looking at the sounds and acoustics in our buildings, considering its significance as a common attribute in our daily use of a building, as well as the design opportunities it can present.
