Housed within Cox's 1988 Pavilion, this year's exhibition addresses new forms of architectural practice in Australia. More specifically the exhibition addresses alternate ways of practice, summarised as "formations" and networks. Six architectural teams or "formations", are presented in the exhibition and they identify and represent the ways that these new modes of practice can, and have been formed.

The six formations communicate the variety of form and nature of these formations (networks). This includes robotic fabrication, education, media, humanitarian issues and architectural collaborations Their practice is outside of the traditional model of architectural practice, and thereby it presents a discussion on the possible nature of future practice.
