Russian Pavilion: i-land i-city

This Russian exhibition this year addresses the urban development of the secret science cities (titled i-land) which existed up to the 1980s, contrasted with the new shift to create an open, international science centre for the future (i-city).

The new science centre (city) is called Skolkovo. More information at http://www.sk.ru/en/

visitors look through the small holes on the walls to peer into the past centers
the communication tool highlights the nature of the secrecy involved, and its closed nature.
Underpinning the exhibition is the contrast between the approach, design and urban development of these science centers, and highlights the future approach which embraces the international community in an open manner, and invites international architects and designers to contribute towards their vision.
