OfficeUS: USA Pavilion

The US have set up office in the Giardini for the six months of the Biennale this year.

In their interpretation of Rem Koolhaas's theme, Fundamentals - Absorbing Modernity 1914-2014; the USA seek to address the theme by using new documention methods to actively re-address international buildings & projects completed by US architectural practices over the last 100 years.

Headed up by 3 founding "directors", they will collaborate with 90 outpost offices / architects across the globe, a result of an earlier open call out.

Project manilla folders line the walls of the pavilion come office, systematically arranged under building typology, creating a library for both the office and visitors to .peruse and to study.

What will result? The office tells me, many different various interpretations - some documentors are graphic based, others interested in food. It's an evolving exhibit, the outputs uploaded, shared on line and shared with the Biennale visitors through interactive, and impromptu, discussions with invited industry experts.
